RainCatcher rainwater harvesting for Wienerberger e4 brick house™
One of RainCatcher’s rainwater systems was installed on the landmark new housing project developed by Wienerberger in 2015. The Wienerberger e4 brick house™, which is at the BRE Innovation Park in Watford, was designed to target SME contractors and builders, social housing providers, registered social landlord (RSL) and Local Authorities involved in the construction and provision of sustainable and affordable housing, with self and custom builds also benefiting from this future archetypical house design for sustainable and affordable housing in the UK.
Construction conformed and achieved the Code for Sustainable Homes Level 4, The Framework Standard for Responsible Sourcing BES 6001, 2016 Part L whilst also complying with Lifetime Homes and the London Housing Design Guide, a fantastic and realistic solution to the current housing crisis.
With a build time of almost half that of a standard house, it just has to be the future!
Specified for the project was the British made RainCatcher 200 litre modular rainwater storage and unique RainCatcher filter diverter (more details) – a simple no frills approach to rainwater harvesting and attenuation.
